Enabling

Enabling is the act of playing into someone's bad habits, delusions, fantasies and neuroses. Due to the trolling scene which has formed around him, Gabriel has earned a fair number of enablers who orbit around him like flies to a carcass. This caste of folk in the Novaverse encourage his unsavory behavior and endorse his grandiose delusions of fame, giving him a positive feedback loop and making him really believe that he's a famous influencer (and not an infamous lolcow).

Examples

Unknownforreal

Unknownforreal is the creator of Gabriel's soap box: the Novine Universe Wiki (N.U.W.). They enable Gabriel's belief that he really hasn't done anything wrong at all (trust), and that he's merely the victim of continued harassment from a (presumed) contiguous group-chat of dastardly trolls. On the wiki, they themselves had written on it's 'about' page that the wiki's purpose is to refute 'lies' about ole' Gabe, giving him a confirmation to his own ego.

Thoughtless

Thoughtless is not only an enabler, but also a ween, whiteknight and carpetbagger; as of November 2024, she is one of the only members of the Novaverse who has partaken in all of the vile deeds on the Unholy Pentad. Her enabling was much more of a long-haul compared to other enablers: she entered into a pseudo-romance with him, and continued endorsing his bad behavior and creepy habits even after the destruction of his server.

Other enablers

A case can be made that people who are not passive observers and also do not actively refute his lies or troll him are enablers, as they play into his delusions of grandeur. However, one shouldn't go about throwing around the label willy-nilly; if it happens too often, it dilutes it's meaning and weight.
